The fourth instalment to the well-loved series is a much stronger entry, but still has room for improvement. The story begins with Piaroa who has just reached the present, only to be separated from her mother. She continues on alone until she meets Sofia at her father’s house, which wakes up old memories of the past few days causing intense feelings of discomfort. At this point in the story, there is less emphasis on the mystery surrounding Srirasmi and more focus on Piaroa and her internal struggles. The writing remains captivating though with twists that keep readers hooked into turning pages until they find out what's happening. The story line is an interesting mix of adventure and romance, with Piaroa learning more about herself through the book. Even though there are still issues regarding the characterization of certain characters, an effort has been made to make Piaroa more likeable and relatable to the reader. The romance portion was also brought up to a high standard which brings out even greater connection between the reader and the characters. At this point in time, there is no real conflict but just a lot of mystery surrounding Piaroa’s past that will provide an exciting climax come the end of this book. • The Romance The romance portion was executed very well allowing readers to connect with both Piaroa and her other love interest, Sofia. The romance is not very focused on for this book, which makes the story much more interesting. The relationship between Piaroa and Sofia has a lot of depth to it, and it's a development that is really appreciated. The love story is also not rushed but also not neglected at all, allowing for a nice balance to be struck in how the book would progress. • Characterization The characterization of certain characters have been improved, especially of Piaroa herself. She is more likeable in this book, due to her actions and words making her relatable to the reader. There are still some issues regarding characterization besides Piaroa (i.e. Sofia), but the changes made by this installment were noticeable. • Overall Impression The plot of this book is far more interesting than its predecessors and has a lot more potential to be a great book, although there are still areas that need improvement. The romance portion wasn't as focused on as much as it could have been, but the plot plotline was a good addition to this book which makes it a reccoable purchase for readers. • Plot Development This book is more plot-driven than previous instalments to the series. The plot is fast-paced and keeps readers turning pages until the very end. The plot develops as Piaroa learns more about herself as she travels through time. • Characters The characters in the story have been developed a good deal, especially Piaroa. Her character has been developed more effectively in this book, and her inner struggles are relatable to the reader. In previous books, some characters were more developed than others making it hard for readers to really connect with them. The characterization of Sofia and some other characters has still got a little way to go but has improved considerably since the last two books of this series. Finally, there is still room for development of certain characters, which will hopefully be worked on and perfected in future books. cfa1e77820
